When I was in 100 and 200 level I used to be the most efficient babe. One thing about me is that I like to show up, so at every point in time if any program was organized in the chapel, I’ll always be there. In my house, it’s compulsory for you to join a unit in church and so I started being an usher from as little as 12 in the adult church. I’ll wear my heels and be parading round the church😂
Good times.
Recently I found myself pondering on the story of Mary and Martha.
Coincidentally one of my favorite songs in this season is “Wonder” by Bethel Worship. You can listen to it by clicking here
Regardless of what is, I never ever want to lose my awe or my wonder. I want to be like Mary.
So I’m writing this for you, for I know how passionate you are for God but beyond your doing God is interested in your being. That being only comes from staying.
Don’t be distracted. Don’t be swayed, don’t major on the minor, and stay FOCUSED.
I saw a post on Instagram that said “if you’re really burdened, you’d talk less” “keep quiet and pray”
It hit me.
Once it hits you that every other thing is paparazzi you’ll just close your door and stay with your father.
So why did I leave church? I left church to take attendance in the children’s church when I should have listened to the sermon.
So for me in those days I took attendance as an usher and when the sermon was about to start, I would remember that I hadn’t taken attendance for the children’s church or remember different things I’ve forgotten to do.
This was a long time ago and for you your distraction may be good or even valid excuses but they are still distractions because they shift your gaze and your focus.
You must fight to stay FOCUSED. It could be in you setting boundaries. It could be in your being more disciplined whatever it is, fight for your FOCUS.
The lord is calling you back to himself.
Come back ❤
Lyrics of Wonder by Bethel Worship.
May we never lose our wonder
May we never lose our wonder
Wide eyed and mystified
May we be just like a child
Staring at the beauty of our King
Yes, I remember you and your cousins being ushers. Great storytelling btw.
