THE PERSECUTION
When I was in JSS3 a classmate said I was forming “Holy Holy” because I did too much for Jesus. I felt bad and decided to turn it down a notch. I stopped being “holy holy” and didn’t talk about Jesus as much. It took “Holy Holy” to take me out.
Now I had this other classmate that refused to let anyone get to her, she stood her ground. I respect that, because I found myself compromising a lot after that.
I imagine being born when the Apostle Paul was killing believers. I compare it to the persecutions I face now and they somehow pale in comparison. People were willing to stick to it to the end, they were ready to die for God.
Now here comes the tricky part. The persecutor gives his life to Christ and becomes one of the greatest apostles the world ever had. There are a lot of Paul's in our generation. They want you to compromise, they want you to do it because “it's not that deep”. Its just a little lie a little here a little there and before you know it you have become one of them.
You might be tempted to lose your salvation because of the pressure. One of my pastors says human beings are built to forget, the same people criticising you will eventually admire your stance.
““How blessed you are when people insult and persecute you and speak all kinds of cruel lies about you because of your love for me! So leap for joy—since your heavenly reward is great. For you are being rejected the same way the prophets were before you.”
Matthew 5:11-12 TPT
“Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.”
Jude 1:24 NLT
You are not the first, let God help you stand. Don’t lose your salvation for anyone.
You can stand. You will stand. This is an encouragement for you not to compromise, to not “tone it down” Stay steadfast.
