IT TOOK ME FOUR MINUTES!
My father says I’m his most stubborn child but I don’t believe it lol you meannn meeee! Daughter of Godddd stubborn 😂 I’m not how can I be!
Obedience.
Sometime in February, I wanted to get to a church, so I asked the security at the gate for directions. He said to take the front gate that it’s faster. I was like no I know the way from the back gate and I think it’s faster. It took me like 40 minutes thereabout to get to where I was going. (Ps: I was trekking with heels)
Another day I decided that I wanted to check how long it would take me to go through the front gate and it took me just four (4) minutes!!! FOUR MINUTES! Imagine I listened.
I look back at all the times I wish I had listened. I wish I listened to my parents, I wish I listened to well meaning people advising me and I hearkened to their voice.
I remember telling a friend about how protective I thought my parents were and I said something along the lines of “Let me just make my own mistakes” and she told me that some mistakes are better avoided. And more than 4 years down the line I see what she means. You see you may not understand what God is protecting you from or what he wants to build in you but just obey.
On some days you walk through fire so others don’t have to walk in it, but other times the fire you went through was of your own doing and it could have been avoided. There’s something these scars do to you and you could have just avoided it.
We are creatures of habit, and if you’re in the habit of constantly disobeying and disregarding instructions you’ll most likely continue that way. If everytime God instructs you on something, you take the other way, you’re most likely going to regret it.
You have tried it one way and failed why not try it another way. Why not seek God’s counsel then follow and obey it.
Trust the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he would make your path straight.
Remember that Obedience is better than sacrifice. God is as interested in the means as he is in the result.
I’m learning obedience in this season and I thought to share with you. ❤️
I hope this helps you.
