Is it really worth it?

There’s something I like to say, if you live by the praises of men you will die by the praises of men.

Praise can be intoxicating, and it's easy to become dependent on it.

Let’s talk about Saul.

Saul was facing a desperate situation, he was losing the battle. His army was crumbling, and he knew drastic measures were needed to prevent a total defeat. He had only one instruction to follow in the battle. Wait for Samuel.

He panicked. He conducted the sacrifice himself because he was scared of his men deserting him.

If you read through the book of 1st Samuel, Saul was in constant need of validation from people

““How foolish!” Samuel exclaimed. “You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you. Had you kept it, the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.””

Then Samuel said God is giving his kingdom to a man that after his own heart. Then I  checked what does being a man after God’s own heart represent?

Then I checked google and it took me to Acts 13:22

“But God removed Saul and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.’”

So really, being a man after God’s heart is doing everything that God wants and requires us to do regardless of people’s opinion on it.

You know what’s funny, after disobeying Saul was still at a disadvantage

“Samuel then left Gilgal and went on his way, but the rest of the troops went with Saul to meet the army. They went up from Gilgal to Gibeah in the land of Benjamin. When Saul counted the men who were still with him, he found only 600 were left!”

I wish Saul continued the way he started. When he was to be anointed Samuel gave him instructions and he obeyed them. It’s important that we obey. We must obey. It’s imperative that we obey.

What to note

“For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭11‬:‭36‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We were created for God’s glory and even our obedience is intended for his glory.

Now look at Jonathan

““Let’s go across to the outpost of those pagans,” Jonathan said to his armor bearer. “Perhaps the Lord will help us, for nothing can hinder the Lord. He can win a battle whether he has many warriors or only a few!””

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God is never at a disadvantage. God is never disadvantaged when it comes to you. Regardless of the resources you think you don’t have or the capacity you need to build, God can win a battle even with few or many warriors. He is not at a disadvantage.

So what am I saying let God lead you. He has always been faithful with you he won’t stop now. But in leading you must obey !

Finally

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Gods will is good, pleasing, and perfect. It’s 3 in 1 so I can go to sleep knowing that I’m in a good, pleasing, and perfect state. So it would be said concerning me that I was a woman after God’s own heart and I obeyed.

Let it be said concerning you that you a man/woman after God’s own heart.
