GOD SAID
““Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?””
John 4:29 NLT
I used to be very lazy to hear God for myself. I was always waiting in that service for a Man of God to approach me and tell me “thus sayeth the lord”, similar to how Jesus told the Samaritan woman everything she has ever done. It made me feel seen and loved but I sufferred under a great misconception. God speaks through his servant to us but God speaks directly to his children as well.
“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.”
Romans 8:14 NLT
“For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!””
Romans 8:16 TPT
The death of Jesus tore the veil and gave us direct access to him, to hear and know his heart.
“At that moment the veil in the Holy of Holies was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth shook violently, rocks were violently split apart,”
Matthew 27:51 TPT
“That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.”
1 Corinthians 2:9-12 NLT
The Bible says “but to us!!!! God has revealed these things by his spirit” there’s no mystery, you can see it, hear it, understand it, and receive the wonderful things that God has freely given to you.
One bad habit we have as believer’s is saying ‘i just felt i should do it’ ‘my instincts were correct’ but I’m learning not to trivialize the power of the Holy Spirit and reduce it to a fleshy endeavour. I’m still on this table and I pray to God for grace. I think sometimes it is fear that what if I say the Holy Spirit said and he didn’t really say that would mean I’m lying with the Holy Spirit or I believe in it and say Holy Spirit said and it doesn’t work out and I begin to start having doubts. It’s a process and I’m writing this to tell you that I’ve been here, you’re not alone.
So how does God speak?
I’ll be talking about that in the next edition. Until then, try to exercise your communication with God and be intentional about hearing from him.❤️
